The bi-annual international festival of safety, Düsseldorf’s A+A event, is taking place in November. Elaine Knutt offers a preview.
To tap in to the latest safety debates, innovations and technologies, safety professionals will be checking flight schedules and hotel availability in Düsseldorf on 5 to 8 November, where the bi-annual A+A safety event takes place. Up to 2,000 exhibitors from around 60 countries will be showcasing products across ten exhibition halls, while a parallel congress event will debate the latest topics in safety.
Around half the visitors are expected to travel from outside Germany – the total at the 2017 event was 47% of 67,000 visitors – with UK visitors numbering around 1,700.
The overarching concept this time is “safety, security and health at work”. Safety is described as the event’s core topic, in the context of a “booming” market for PPE as employers shift to modernise their provision and source more sustainable products. Security covers risks to buildings, facilities, equipment and the environment, as well as fire protection and emergency management, while the health element covers workplace interiors, acoustics, ergonomic tools and occupational health.
JSP will be exhibiting its latest ranges of innovative safety products, including helmets incorporating eye and face protection, in Hall 6, on Stand G43.
